Nigel is the co-owner and founder of A5Drive School of Motoring. He has been a DSA licensed driving instructor for
7 years. He is a ‘grade 5’ instructor (instructors are graded by the DSA from 1 to 6) and has a very high pass rate. He is a friendly and popular instructor and all his pupils come from referrals from previous pupils.
He became a driving instructor after retiring from the police, having completed 30 years service. During his police career he spent many years driving rapid response and pursuit vehicles, where he honed his driving skills, and most importantly his hazard awareness.
During this 30 years Nigel performed a variety of duties including uniform response, crime investigation, public order, drugs and surveillance. As his career developed he rose through the ranks and retired as a Chief Inspector based at New Scotland Yard responsible for day to day policing across the whole of London.
Thirty years police service also gave Nigel excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations and under pressure. These are ideal attributes to his current role as a driving instructor.
